so, a new name to reflect new developments. Hugh's Blog was me writing about running the company - quite boring stuff on reflection. BUT I'm chock full of ideas for drummers... So welcome to the new Drum Hacks & Tips blog, where I'll be sharing little nuggets of genuis that I've picked up over the years of gigging, recording, and teaching... Yesterday was a day I'd been waiting for for around 8 months! I pushed the "big green button" and went live with Cymbomute Pro360º. Check it out - it has a silicone bumper to accept stick impact. The idea was based on customer feedback, and that I'm constantly seeking ways to improve cymbomute (Kaizen). Some customers (who are much more heavy handed than I) were playing through their mutes more quickly than anticipated. Some of this may be attributable to too much aggrression, or incorrect technique, however - this does not mean I ignore the feedback - far from it....

We are so proud to finally announce our new cymbal mute! The cymbomute WIDE RIDE™ has taken months of development - our material makers had to work hard on the challenge of 100mm wide, but they've nailed it, and the result is superb. We've always felt that for larger cymbals it would be nice to have a choice as to how much ring you want to kill and now you have the choice. The standard mute will do just as good a job as ever - or you can now choose the WIDE RIDE to attenuate even further. We even had fun...
